Wild Adventure Tour

Here's an excellent adventure for the whole family. No bats or mosquitoes - just colorful beauty and the amazing formations of a powerful volcano.

Scenic Walking Tour (1+ hour)

Huge Passages No Crawling. An incredible family adventure for ages 6 and up. Ka'eleku Caverns in Hana, Maui Walking the winding trails of this ancient underground lava tube system is fun, safe and easy. You'll witness a fascinating world of Stalactites, Stalagmites and flowstone created ages ago! A cool temperature of 57 to 67 degrees Fahrenheit, with 20-40 foot high ceilings. Guests need to be physically fit for walking on sometimes uneven terrain and have good vision.

"Wild" Adventure Tour (2+ hours)

15 years or older, please An exploration unlike ANYTHING you've done before. In addition to passing through the same large passages as on the Walking Tour, imagine wriggling into narrow crawls, climbing rocky ledges and ascending a 20 foot ladder to explore secret chambers and "overtube highways" A superior caving experience that can only be found inside a volcano! All "Wild" Tour participants MUST be physically FIT with good vision; 195 lb weight limit Expect to get a little dirty.


Our Lava Tube tours are led by experienced, knowledgeable caving guides who explain how the cavern was formed geologically and interpret the lava formations within. We teach guests how to "Cave Softly" by taking only photos and leaving only footprints. All levels of nature lovers, from first time cavers to experts will learn a lot on this tour.

Required attire:

Closed toe shoes and Long Pants on "Wild" Tour Supplied gear: gloves, flashlights, and hardhats (hip packs, water and snacks on the "Wild" tour) Daily Tour Schedule: Monday thru Saturday (Call about Sundays) Scenic Walking Tour departs 11am "Wild" Adventure Tour departs 1pm Walk-ins welcome based on availability

Drive famous Hana Highway (360), past mile marker 31. Turn left on Ulaino Road. Drive 4/10 of a mile to Ka'eleku Caverns. We are located 3 miles before Hana town, so please, allow 3 hours drive time from Kihei or West Maui
