Grocery store flyers and coupons can be found in the Maui News. Pay close attention to discounts on milk and bread, as these items generally cost a lot more than they do on the mainland. Hawaiian bread and dairy products from local Hawaiian dairies will generally be less expensive than the brands you recognize from home. Compare Haleakala Dairy items to your regular favorites!

Discount Cards

Safeway and Foodland service counters give you a card for free that will save you a ton of money on many grocery items. Try to buy in bulk! This is often where you will get the best deals. If possible, make a meal plan before you arrive. You don't want to have to go to the store every day on vacation - plan your meals so that you use many of the same items in their preparation each day. Groceries on Maui are too expensive to have to throw things away at the end of your stay!
