On the edge of the Upcountry Rainforest bordering Makawao Town lies a secluded ranch. It's a riding adventure with plenty of open spaces and the freedom you won't find anywhere else.

TWO RIDES DAILY (Monday - Saturday)

We take up to 6 riders per trip. Special arrangements can be made for larger groups. Call for available times.

Riders must be at least 8 years old and in good physical condition to ride. Must be 14 years old to participate without a parent or guardian. All rides are suitable for first time riders as well as the experienced horseback rider. Long pants and closed-toe shoes required. Western saddles provided. Rain gear available. Helmets are provided and required.

Paniolo Horseback Helicopter Combo
Meet at the heliport at 7:45am. 2.5 hour ride, BBQ lunch and 25-30 minute flight through West Maui Mountains. Reservations for this tour can be made by calling Sunshine Helicopters at 871-0722.

Paniolo Adventure Morning Ride
Check in time is 8:15am, departing at 8:30am. 2.5 hour ride which includes a Paniolo style BBQ lunch of Mendes Ranch Ribs, smoked BBQ chicken, country style beans, salad, rolls & refreshments.

Aloha Ride
Check in times are 8:15am, and 12:15pm, departing 15 minutes later. 2 hour ride includes refreshments

Come with us to experience an unforgettable journey through Maui's most spectacular views on Horseback. The journey begins at the Mendes Ranch Corral where you will be greeted by real Paniolo's. Canter up rolling pastures into lush rain forest and gaze down into Eki Crater to view some of Maui's largest waterfalls. The narrated tour then continues down the mountain where you will see Hawaiian taro patches and plantation homes. The trail continues down along Waihe'e Valley through grazing cattle to the crystal blue waters of the Pacific Ocean where we will be glad to take a picture of you on horseback with the majestic seascape as a background.

With stables conveniently located near Lahaina and Kaanapali our historic tour along the West Maui Mountains features amazing views of Molokai and Lanai and includes a picnic lunch in Launiupoko Valley. Our friendly trail guides and friendly horses guarantee a good time.

Historic Early Ride - 8:30am
We ride along Kauaula Stream on the south rim of Kauaula Valley to a lookout at approximately 1200 ft elevation. From this vantage point we are able to see incredible views all the way to the old Pioneer Mill, Lahaina Town and harbor. Snacks and beverages served.

Lunch Ride - 10:30am
We ride along Kauaula Stream on the south rim all the way over to Launiopoko Valley. The trail is nestled up against the foothills of the West Maui Mountains. Incredible views of Molokai, Lanai and Lahaina Town and harbor. Lunch is served at our authentic Hawaiian hale, situated adjacent to a fresh water reservoir. Sandwich lunch, snacks and beverages included.

Sunset Ride - 2 hour treat
Checkin time changes with the seasons (call for exact time). This is what West Maui is all about - the most beautiful sunsets in the entire world. Snacks and refreshments served.

Sunset/ Full Moon Ride - 2 hrs
A two hour sensual experience... Once a month we offer our Sunset and Full Moon Ride. This is a honeymooner's delight. Romance your partner on horseback. Enjoy sparkling cider and chocolates at the lookout. Call for availability and times.

No experience necessary - all rider levels welcome
