Zipline Tours in Maui, HawaiiSKYLINE ECO ADVENTURES2004 Hawaii Eco-Tour Operator of the year - Hawaii Ecotourism AssociationRecommended by Frommer's Travel Guide 2005 (808) 878-8400 Come and enjoy Maui's most unique adventure experience, where you can see the world from all sides with the breathtaking views that only a Haleakala Skyline Tour can provide. "Grit your teeth and have some fun" -Chicago TribuneImagine yourself soaring over gulches and through the trees along the slopes of one of the world's largest volcanoes. An adventure that blends a short hiking experience with a series of picturesque zipline crossings, the Haleakala Skyline Tour promises to be one of the most memorable activities you can do on the island of Maui. A perfect adventure for anyone ten years of age or older, the Haleakala Skyline Tour has something for the whole family. Our specially trained staff will outfit you with a custom seat harness before leading you into the woods where adventure awaits. The tour starts with a walk through the woods in beautiful upcountry Maui, then gets your heart pumping as you sail across each of our ziplines and get a birds-eye view of the seasonal waterfalls and vegetation below. Take part in this one of a kind adventure, and bring home memories of an experience that you'll talk about for years to come. Hike through a forest and sail through the trees. The natural environment of the Hawaiian Islands, with all of its spectacular vegetation, waterfalls, and animal life, formed over the last 6 million years or so, in one of the most isolated places on the face of the Earth. Plants found only here once dominated the landscape, as an array of native birds flew overhead. Since the appearance of man, at least 23 species or subspecies of bird and countless plants have become extinct. Likewise the traditions and sacred sites of the ancient Hawaiian people continue to disappear by the day, never to be seen again. In order to retain the true spirit of Hawai'i, these things that are uniquely Hawaiian must be preserved, so that future generations may enjoy the wonderful diversity and rich history that is Hawai'i. "A thrilling communion with nature" -Maui News Safety Skyline's top priority is the safety of each and every person who takes part in the Haleakala Skyline Tour. All aspects of our course and every piece of our equipment is held to the highest standards of safety. Course Engineered and constructed to exceed all industry safety standards, our course is comprised of 3/8 inch thick galvanized aircraft grade steel cable, tested to hold over 14,400 pounds. That is the equivalent of a semi-truck hanging on the line! EquipmentAll equipment used on the Skyline Tour is carefully selected for its strength, comfort, and ease of use. Crafted with quality materials, all harnesses, carabiners, tethers and pulleys have a minimum breaking strength of 5,000 pounds or greater. Guides Each Skyline guide is adept in every aspect of course operations and is practiced in all safety procedures. In addition to rigorous on course training all guides have current First Aid & CPR certifications through the American Red Cross. These competent and friendly individuals can quickly flip from discussing the finer points of Hawaiian History to explaining why we set our carabiners a certain way or why a third fist grip is installed on either end of every line.Featured on the Travel ChannelOur friendly staff is the company's greatest asset; their energy and hard work are what bring each tour to life. The tour experiences are always changing as our guides tell different legends from ancient Hawai'i, share bits of information about Maui's fragile native environment, or as they detail the island's history from Polynesian discovery through the present day. 10% of our company's profits go toward preservation. Skyline Eco-Adventures is committed to preserving Hawaii's land and culture through both monetary and physical means.
